University of Central Arkansas
The University of Central Arkansas Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching, research and service. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. The position is tenure track and a nine-month appointment. Required Education The formal education of a doctorate or terminal degree required. Preferred Education Ph.D. in Spanish, Comparative Literature or related field in hand or near completion.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Generalist to teach all levels of undergraduate language, culture, and literature in Spanish, graduate courses in our Spanish M.A. program, and Latino and Latin American studies courses in English for the general education program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Desired specializations include US-Latino/Chicano/Mexican culture and/or literature. Experience or interest in service learning and working with UCA’s vibrant Latino Student Organization strongly desired. Must have a demonstrated interest and ability to teach Hispanic culture courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.
