1-REAS est un film de la réalisatrice Lola Arias, tourné en Argentine.  Ici, elle retourne avec des ex-détenues dans les lieux d’une prison désafectée de Buenos Aires, et leur demande de raconter/rejouer/revivre des moments de leur incarcération, 20 ans plus tard. Entre performance, cinéma documentaire et théâtre, la réalisatrice arrive à libérer la parole sur une période, et des parcours très durs et traumatiques.

La projection aura lieu le 2 février 2025 – 18h00, Cinéma Palace

2-FUGA réalisé par deux artistes bruxelloises, Bénédicte Liénard, Mary Jimenez se passe au coeur de l’Amazonie péruvienne, là où les groupes terroristes et homophobes ont fait rage dans les années 80-90, dans ce film, Saor accompagne le corps de celle qui fût son amour. A travers les révélations troublantes de la communauté qu’il rencontre, il perce les non-dits.

La projection aura lieu le 29 janvier 2025 – 20h45 au Cinéma Galeries En présence des réalisatrices.

Dans une prison désaffectée de Buenos Aires, un groupe de femmes cisgenres et transgenres rejouent les souvenirs de leur incarcération en interprétant leur propre rôle ou ceux d’autres détenues et gardiennes. Les petites histoires qui en résultent, tantôt tristes (ruptures, arrestations) tantôt joyeuses (mariages, amitiés profondes), forment une mosaïque émouvante de la vie des femmes en prison tout en mettant en lumière la singularité de chaque vécu : il est question d’aliénation, de solidarité et d’émancipation dans un univers carcéral oppressant. Entre deux reconstitutions, Reas met en scène les récits de ses personnages à travers des scènes de comédie musicale dont les chorégraphie, sensibles et intimistes, ne quittent jamais les personnages et leurs sentiments. Loin d’être un simple recours à la légèreté, ces séquences illustrent l’émancipation possible des corps, permettant aux personnages de s’affranchir du poids de leurs traumatismes. Ainsi, les réalisatrices transforment l’incarcération en un lieu où les femmes, par leurs voix et leurs corps, créent un espace de réconciliation, de dignité et de résilience.

En plein cœur de l’Amazonie péruvienne, Saor, un jeune Indien, retourne dans son village natal pour enterrer son amour perdu Valentina. En rencontrant les ami·es et les proches de celle-ci, il se plonge dans son passé jusque là inconnu, décryptant les non-dits et découvrant des secrets enfouis. À travers ce scénario fictif construit sur des témoignages et incarné par des acteur·ices non-professionnel·les, le film explore le contexte des années 80 et 90, période funeste marquée par un conflit entre l’État et deux groupes armés qui fut plus de 69000 mort·es et 15 000 disparu·es. Fuga met en lumière les violences homophobes qui sévissaient au sein de ces groupes et qui marquèrent Valentina jusque dans son corps. Au fil de son enquête, Saor est confronté à des révélations troublantes qui bouleversent sa perception de la réalité et le mènent à comprendre le poids du passé et les secrets de la communauté. Avec empathie et respect, Bénédicte Liénard et Mary Jimenez lèvent le voile sur un épisode peu connu de l’histoire péruvienne.

La Dani’s groundbreaking contributions to Spanish cinema and the arts make their attendance at the 10th ASFF a significant and inspiring moment. Their participation underscores the festival’s commitment to celebrating diversity and fostering inclusivity within the film industry.

Part of the rich program of our festival is the inclusion of an LGBTQIA+ section, WHERE DOES LOVE GOES, further emphasizing the festival’s dedication to showcasing films that explore and celebrate the experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community. The iconic Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival is back on the scene. An event you can’t afford to miss, whether you’re a lover of Spain, culture, or movies.

From the 24th until the 26th of November the Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival will introduce some of the most acclaimed and latest Spanish movies. As is the tradition, the festival offers a rich lineup featuring a variety of films, from established filmmakers to emerging talents in the Spanish cinema panorama.

A 360-degree Spanish experience. The festival bridges Iberian cinema with its delectable gastronomy, featuring special guests and Spanish drinks and bites to create a unique atmosphere and provide an unparalleled experience for our audience.

This year’s edition will take place at the emblematic location of Pathé Tuschinski, Eye Filmmuseum, and LAB111.

Spanish Film Club (SFC) offers grants to organize film festivals in educational settings worldwide.
